Yes--when I was on the dating sites, there seemed to be many more men from CT who caught my attention. Living on the north shore, the CT guys made up the majority of my matches.
I'd see one I liked and then see he's from CT. :-(
I met my husband in 1996 but did not start dating him until 2000, married him in 2003.I met him through a mutual friend of mine, and was not interested in him that way then. In fact I wanted to date a Guido LOL. He's far from a Guido but he's the love of my life.

A close friend found herself thrust back into the dating scene in her mid 50's. Genetics were slightly in her favor as she looked mid 40's. Foreign born and college-educated (multiple degrees) one would think her appealing figure, pretty face, and lilting accent would help her.
Most men she met through more traditional methods of introduction all had their issues, and the ones met online even more. Some wanted a playmate, a few wanted a mommy or a housekeeper, others wanted to unload all their baggage on her, and many wanted women half her age -- despite their own age. That's not to say she didn't find any quality men on Long Island. There were some, but they were far and few between.
She did find more men of substance in Connecticut, but ultimately became serious with a man from her alma mater.
I don't envy anyone trying to date in this high-tech world.

I loved when Guido's wore Drakkar, gelled their hair and wore cavaricci jeans. In fact I went to Zachary's this new years eve with 2 of my best GF's and it seemed liked the Guys there forgot that the Guido look went out in 1990's LOL and they still had the same cheesy pick up lines
