E.g. Herricks has very good sat recreation program (science, cooking, karate, etc) and cheap summer camp ( below $1000). I'm looking into other school district as well. Thanks.

Hewlett offers recreation classes, including swimming. Looks like they have cut back on the art and crafting classes.

Hmmm, not sure exactly what you're looking for. But Garden City offers Saturday classes over the winter. They also offer "summer enrichment" which at the K-1 level is just some age-appropriate activities and at the grade 2-and-up level they can pick what class they want to take (can't remember the choices but I know my boys did a video-making thing). If I remember all of these were very inexpensive, relatively speaking.

If you start stalking the GC school website next month you should eventually see reference to "summer enrichment program" and you can check it out.

Be aware that none of these are full day, so if you are looking for a cheap daycare type scenario, this isn't it.

When I went to Great Neck South in the 90s, I went to a summer pool/rec thing at the middle school level. And for the more nerdier activities they had a summer science research thing when I was at hs level. I don't know how things are now these days, but I assume its either the same or better.

Great Neck even had a Go Cart Racing Club in Summer at Great Neck South Junior High. We used to race these gas go carts around like at 40mph. We even had one that went 60 mph

We are thinking moving, so that's something I am considering. I am currently at Carle Place and there are not much options since the SD is small.

Carle Place residents send their kids to the East Williston summer recreation camp at the EW schools. I believe the bus will pick up from Carle Place school. But for a town rec camp, it's not cheap--I think it's something like $1800 for 6 weeks.

Great Neck has a nice summer program, but again not that cheap. East Williston has a Saturday recreation program that's nice and not expensive, like $150 for each class.
