No inside photos available. In January 2007, a lis pendens was filed. In December 2008 it was a sale between relatives (nominal amount).
Looks like they might have had to get a variance to put such a large house on that size property--takes up almost the entire parcel (you can see it if you click on "birdseye view", find the house at the end of the cul-d-sac, and turn it around

That house owner bought entire land for Carlou court built on he then threw up spec houses sold them all for a big profit and built this house for himself.
At peak of Market he did a 100% equity loan vs house and never made a single payment. Not even the first mortgage payment. It is 8 years since he made a mortgage payment.
the taxes are insane on that house. Owner also has huge liens with IRS, NY STATE and multiple lawsuits.
It's possible this house is currently being marketed not for its school district but as a place to park foreign cash.
When I look at this silly offer I'm reminded of those thousands of luxury Manhattan apartments sitting empty. They were purchased by foreigners from China, Russia and elsewhere by people who just don't know where to toss their money. There's lots of cash sloshing around and rich people looking for places to stash it.
People have various reasons for overpaying for real estate. I also heard about some rich people that buy unwanted expensive homes with large properties so they can get a tax break as a so-called "farmer." According to the terms, you have to plant something and sell at least $1K of it then the government gives you a big tax reduction.
Rich people... they have their ways.
Well, if they're doing that in NY. they don't have a clue, and won't be rich for long......
