Happy May , everyone. I really would like to get an automatic pool cover for my inground pool. But I don't know anyone that has one. Do you have an automatic pool cover? What is the manufacturer? Who installed it? Can you use salt water with it?? How much did it cost? I heard they cost @ $9000. Thanks so much

They are expensive. They can be more of a headache then they are worth. They can be used with salt water pools. When I was still in the pool business I would actually advise customers against installing them. Hey, it's your money.

Automatic covers make a HUGE difference in the cost of heating your pool. You will see the savings immediately. When I sold pools, I sold automatic covers for $12,000. They also lengthen your swimming season. The brand I used was Coverstar.

Good luck and have a great summer.

Thanks for the help. I have a son who is autistic and loves to swim so this is more than a convenience its an important 'layer' of safety. I appreciate the input.

pool supply world on line sells stuff like this at a good price and the pool guy in Island Park NY instals at a good price. Don't walk into a pool store like Brothers as they will overcharge like crazy

My neighbors son has one and they love it. They have 3 small children. I will ask him who he used.
