Just wandering if you think they would ticket a Vespa for parking next to a bicycle rack or parking somehwere other than a parking space. I tried today parking on a little dirt patch that a few bikes were to lock their bikes up.
Do they tend to let Vespa's slide?

If you risk parking your Vespa at the LIRR station (and it will likely be long gone (stolen) by the time you get back), you have to park in a parking stall and pay the parking fee.

It's not a bicycle, it's a motor vehicle.

I would lock it up to the end of a bicycle rack and, if ticketed, argue that I was acting in the best interest of commuters by not taking up a parking space best used by an automobile. The LIRR should be making best use of limited parking by having spaces for bicycles, scooters, motorcycles, compact cars, etc, such as is done in Europe and Asia.

The idea of someone named Rocco riding around on a dainty little Vespa is hilarious to me.

I wish you the best of luck with your argument. It's possible that it'll be overlooked.

And I'm with Amisi - there are a bunch of stations where I'd never risk parking something that can be easily stolen.

TF - not that I'd personally drive a Vespa but I know the new GTS 300 models can reach up to 80mph.

Why wish me luck with my argument? No one is making that argument; especially me.
