This is going to sound odd, but years ago I came across an article about an entire street scene from the 40's or 50's, including a nearly pristine, although filthy, vehicle beneath a supermarket in Nassau County. The author mentioned that he had heard about it but didn't believe it. He went to the store, spoke with the manager and the manager gave him access. In the basement and behind a simple steel door labeled "private", there was indeed, a nearly complete street scene that was completely built over, complete with photos. I don't remember the location, or the specific supermarket, and for the life of me I can't find anything online. Does anyone else remember this?
