My own opinion is that the Southern Cross symbolizes rebellion and fighting for what one believes in. I don't expect anyone else to feel the same way.
Thanks I didn't know that.

People fly the confederate flag because they are racists or because they want to **** other people off. There are many things you can do which aren't illegal, but that make people know that you are a moron because you do them..flying the confederate flag is one of them.

It couldn't possibly be because they're proud of their heritage and take pride in their region right? It has to automatically be that they're racist, right? What about everyone in TX who flies the TX flag, or has the "Texas is best!" "Everything is bigger in Texas!" bumper stickers! Are they proud of their state or do they have an alternate agenda too?

It's my belief that someone who sees the confederate flag and immediately thinks "racist!" is the real racist. I have never considered it anything more than a symbol of southern pride, and I know I'm not alone.

Are you personally crawling inside each and every one of their heads to come up with this theory?
It's your opinion, and you're certainly entitled to it, but to label all people who fly a rebel battlefield flag as racist is a bit much.

At a minimum, that person is a belligerent immature jerk and/or a moron, at the worst a racist. In either case they are to be avoided and don't make good neighbors. This is not judging someone because of their skin color, on things they can't control.... flying the confederate flag is something someone chooses to do and therefore should expect to be judged on.

This discussion is hundreds of posts long on the political forum..go argue that the flag has nothing to do with slavery there. The secession documents for the slave states mentioned slavery...the secession was intrinsically about slavery, and that flag has come to represent the secession.

Haha, when in doubt, use the ol' "Go away!" angle. Noted.
