Nassau County_TOH (2015, new home, school)

I am approved for Star exemption 2015-2016. The letters from the Town are supposed to be going out this week or next week. My question is, Does my taxes go down from Nov 2015? or Jan 2015? If it's Jan 2015 , do they send us a refund check ?
I am a new home owner , Appreciate your input !

No refund check. If approved when the school tax bill goes out on 10-1-2015 it will be lower by the Star amount. You can check on line at landrecordviewer sit on 10-1 to see amount.
