This thread is pretty funny. We are buying in North Bellmore. Inspection went well and we hope to sign contracts next week. House is located in what a realtor claimed is the "Old Britton Estates" section - the house is north of SSP and close to East Meadow border.
Great to hear this!! In the past few months N. Bellmore has actually gotten a bit better actually! The place that opened on Newbridge Rd recently called Ramirez...did NOT make it!! Now in its place is a wonderful place called Green Farm Market! Great deli & Hot foods. Excellent organic produce. Easy parking. Easy in...easy out!It is located just north of Sunrise. As well as that new Salpinos's Market on Bellmore & Newbridge. Never used to go north of Sunrise. But that place gave us a reason to now. You are more north than this..but not far. You will be very happy in that section! It is nice there.
Best of Luck. Happy to hear that you made this decision. Enjoy your new home!

Hope you are not right on top of the BOCES center there! On N. Jerusalem & Oakfield!

Nope, the house is in a pretty residential area and very nice block. We are pleased - we just reviewed the contract and will be signing it soon, if not today then early next week. The close access to parkways is definitely a plus.
The last house we almost went into contract was in the Terrace section of Oceanside, and while it was bigger square footage it needed a ton of work (unfinished basement, oil to gas conversion, Central A/C replacement, etc). We are happy this one popped up, it didnt even get onto MLS or Zillow as it was a private listing my agent emailed me and we saw it the day before it would have been made public on the internet, lol.
I see a couple of you said you went into contract...saw one of my favorite houses is off the market. Not sure if I can list the address, but it's just south of N Jerusalem. If that's you, best of luck! Very cool house :-)

You picked the better location! Bellmore was a much better choice than Oceanside!! Best of Luck & Welcome to Bellmore
Most of Bellmore is garbage tract housing. The area of Oceanside she was looking at has pre-war real houses and is in a great location.
The Oceanside house was built in the early 50s and just north of Foxhurst Rd. Not as great to commute from as one needed to navigate side streets to reach Merrick Rd or Long Beach Rd.
The Bellmore house is actually newer construction and was flipped in the last decade so it was a no brainer to jump on it, appliances all new, new CAC, finished basement, renovated bathrooms, etc. The block has a good mix of colonials, splits, and ranches.
