Finally, one of the Albany's finest is found guilty of corruption/money laundering/accepting bribes, etc. and will be serving 100 - 130 years in jail. I wish they'd find all of the corrupt politicians guilty and throw them in jail. We probably don't have enough room in the prisons.

Remember....Silver's arrest came the day after Evil Eyes Cuomo referred to Dean Skelos, Silver and himself as the "three amigos" during his budget presentation. Skelos got nailed for extortion and bribery soon after Sliver got arrested.
Tick Tick Tick Evil Eyes.

Absolutely amazing. It is rare that a crooked politician, especially one as entrenched as Silver - gets convicted. Kudos to the prosecution.

Now they play the appeal game. As Silver is well versed in writing the laws, it is hard to remain confident that the conviction will stand.

The way NYS works, I wouldn't be surprised if this conviction gives him enough publicity to make Silver our next governor.

Skelos is up next. The Long Island republican machine is a tough wall to climb. Does Skelos have powerful enough friends to beat the rap? Will he cut a deal that will save his butt while putting Cuomo in the hot seat?

The both belong in jail along with Cuomo. I still wouldn't be surprised if they all pass GO and collect their $200. It is rare to serve time when you and your friends are the ones writing the laws and appointing those who enforce them.

This is pretty historic and great news. It was touch and go with the one crazy juror but finally Silver is gone from the legislature. Now for Skelos.

The voters should push for full disclosure of out side income, Cuomo recommended a full time legislature. I have to wonder what they really do, only the Cuomo and the top leaders from the house and senate really accomplish anything. The others are just a rubber stamp for the bills.

I love the Texas system, their legislators meet every other year and are paid a fraction of the salaries in NY.

Evil Eyes is just as guilty. He was taking campaign money from Glenwood Management and denied ever meeting them but was proven a liar. Like Silver and Skelos he lived by the pay to play system. He's a dirty man and has been since his HUD position in the late 90's which he forced banks to make subprime loans to lower income people full well knowing most will default.
Foolish NY taxpayers voted for him so they deserve him.

It doesn't make any difference - because of the idiot voters in NYS. Silver was absolutely known to be corrupt, as well as a huge receiver of teacher's union lobbying, and sabotaged loads of good stuff for NYC for venal reasons - yet his idiot constituents in Lower Manhattan voted him in decade after decade. They are still there and still dumb as ever.

....and they'd re-elect him again even if he was sitting in a cell.
