Not that unusual for the days before Christmas though, opt for walking or the train because the roads weren't moving.
One difference I have been noticing though is more obnoxious motorists though, the honking is ridiculous, people seem extra rude at this time of year (contrary to what SHOULD be happening).
LI becomes more & more of a circus with each holiday season. Add in police cuts (NCPD is a rare sight these days), warm weather, and a greater gap between the rich & poor and you got skyrocketing crime.
I don't get why ppl crowd the malls, seems to be a stressful experience that is best avoided by shopping online.
People have seemed to have lost the true meaning of Christmas, the materialism is just out of control here on the island. All my wishes for Christmas can't be bought with money.
Amazon Prime......done!

Too bad the junkie degenerate wasn't blown away in the process. Instead a 67 year old man who should be enjoying retirement takes a bullet instead.

I thought the gay flag and the french flag overlays were ridiculous but this takes the cake. What massacre are you talking about?

And online even with shipping is usually a bit cheaper. Malls aren't worth the trouble.

People can go shopping in Huntington Village which has good retail options. Or rent a home in the Berkshires/Chathams and do shopping in Great Barrington, Pittsfield, Hudson. It's much more pleasant.

This is old news by now but a young man tried to rob a Bulova watch worth $19,000.00 from Tourneau. A guard prevented the robbery. The robber opened fire and a bullet ended up in the shoulder of a Macy's employee. Fortunately, the man is recuperating. People screamed and stampeded towards the exits.

But wait there more. A fight broke out in the food court that was captured on an i phone. people are seen running but there may not have been a stampede. I heard that the police are heavily armed and patrolling the mall.

And to think that people are always passing nasty comments about the Valley Stream mall. What do you think about that?
