I just got a letter from Fios letting me know that if I renew for two years, they will lower my monthly rate by $15.00. We want to keep the Red Zone and for all the services they give us, triple play and every channel possible, the price comes to over $200.00 a month.
I called them and tried to at least get a gift card out of them and more than 15.00 off the monthly price but they wouldn't budge. Anyone have any suggestions for how to deal with them besides threatening to switch to Cablevision which didn't appear to have any effect on them at all?

Buy an Ooma and drop the phone. I pay about $130 a month for Double Play TV and Internet.

That is part of the crazy trick! I pay less than $100 for the triple! Why pay $130 for double??

I'm in the same boat with my contract expiring soon as well, but haven't called them yet. I guess, much like their cell service, they know they're the best, so they don't seem likely to budget much. I'd be curious to see any suggestions that could work.

I think most people just cancel the service and order as new customer with a different family member. that's the only way to get that 300-400 Cash Card.

The last 2 times I re-signed with them they either sent me an email with a good offer or they had a similar or better offer than I was paying on my fios. I never even had to call them.

Yeah that's true, one thing you aren't going to get is that gift card again.
