the other one was me coming out of a chinese takeout in the area.
Your wise words aside, it's amazing to me there would be businesses like that willing to risk their lives, especially chinese who usually prefer to stay away from black folks even under normal circumstances. They could set up shop anywhere and still make the same amount of dollars.
Thanks for the elaborate answer my friend. I am seeing to rent a house in Erlanger Blvd. It's in the North Babylon/ Deer Park junction. But is in proximity to Wyandanch(2miles).Would suggest me going there?
My brother lives on Nimrod St which is just on otherside of Prairie Rd. He's been there 20+ yrs with no problems.

Agreed, but the Chinese are hustlers, most of them running the takeouts are Fukanese and are driven to make money and support their families any which way they can. The poorest, most dangerous neighborhood -- you will almost always find a takeout.

2 miles is far enough, definitely a better area to be in. Good luck with the move.

Even though that area is geographically 2 miles away from Wyandanch, it's still separated from it by a creek/woods. In order to get to the residential areas, you would have to drive all the way down Wyandanch Avenue to Mount Ave. Nobody hangs out on Wyandanch Avenue anyways, it's just corporations.
Lol, if you're worried about robberies then at that point it would actually be much easier for them to rob the multi-millionaires in Dix Hills.

I agree, the Chinese will definitely set up shop anywhere. Most of them truly don't care about giving halfway-decent customer service so they don't mind working in a rougher environment.
Hi Folks - We just moved from Greenville, SC to Long Island. We are a young couple looking to stay for a year in Long Island. We came across a nice apartment called Wyandanch Village. We liked it very much and want to move in. But I came across a lot of threads saying the area is unsafe. Need an honest opinion. We wont use the LIRR much. We will use our car for our daily commute. Please suggest. Looking for quick responses. Thanks!
Ironically, this development is likely more in line with the type of housing the governor was referring to for communities with rail stations or with a Downtown/business district.
