Three Village - good overall if you have the right diagnosis from the right doctor. However if there are behavioral issues they can't accommodate in-district and kids get buses to BOCES.
Smithtown - much harder to get services. Dyslexia not recognized as something requiring services.
Plainview - difficult to get some services including for a hearing disability.

This question comes up quite frequently, you might want to search the LI Forum for "special education" I think you will get an extensive list to read through.
Thanks! Ive looked at past posts but wanted to hear something more current. Although my son doesnt need services right now, i suspect he may in the near future. We are seriously thinking on moving to a district that is more generous with services etc.
Does your son have a diagnosis? From my professional experience, it all depends on what the situation is. Yes, some districts are better equipped than others to provide services in-district, but the days of handing out classifications are over (I work in a district that used to have an incredibly high classification rate...if you wanted your kid classified, you got it, basically...state regs changed, and that was over). Best of luck!
From what I read the older post, HHH, Hericks are pretty good. Sometimes depends on what service you need and if the district has the right program.
i think herricks is tops. I know a very wealthy individual who bought a condo in the district just so his daughter could go to the school.
