So just moved back to LI and living in the East Massapequa area for a while until we get a house. Was happy to find out that our townhouse rental is 1000 feet from Merrick Road, which acts as the cross street to tons of side streets that seem to have direct access to beaches and docks.
Best example of a well-known intersection that I am very close to would be:
County Line Road @ Merrick Road in Amityville 11701 (i'm about 3/4 mile west of here).
Any good locations around there where a few friends and I can head to and cast off, either on the beach or off a dock? We're not planning on being obnoxious, just looking to have some good old "Get away from the wives for a few hours" time that I've missed out on the past few years.
So, any locations?
Specific streets or names of beaches/docks along Merrick Road in that area that we can easily access (without trespassing) at night?
Any restaurants or bait shops local to the area that may buy up our catches (already working on getting licensed).
