But...why is this making you nuts? Your daughter is twenty-one years old. She is an adult. Get out of her business. Let her make mistakes. Land the freaking helicopter and leave it on the ground. Get on with your life and let her get on with hers.
it may have been cab they have a shack outside Massapequa train station

my daughter will always be my business no matter how old she is. she can handle her business she only paid the $12 period. it made me nuts cause I never heard of charging per person for a local ride.
thanks for your opinion tho

Go to Google maps and see exactly how far the trip is, then go online or call the Town to see if they were overcharged. Was the rate card posted in the cab? Were they charged accordingly? If there are any irregularities someone should contact the Town. And that someone is not you.

By that I meant that you call them instead of hailing them, and they charge fixed amounts based on distance. But at the place by me, they only do a slight upcharge per person, and there is no upcharge per person once the distance of a fare exceeds their zone.

OP here claimed per person charge which sounds unusual to me.

Taxis on LI are incredibly disgusting....I'd taken them twice ever in my life. They make the nyc subway or bus seem luxurious in comparison

The posted pricing in the cab would be the deciding factor in whether this was overcharging or theft of service. You simply cannot refuse to pay a legally posted price if you don't like it.

Do you have a point in this whole scenario or are you just a surrogate whiner about the price?
