Are you kidding me!
One town is better than other. They are both super great towns, with mucho $$$$$$$$$$. Garden city has better public transportations but manhasset is right of the LIE. Both are great for shopping and have great schools.

Manhasset is beautiful. Good schools, very nice areas. Both are very easy to get to NYC. We have a few friends in Manhasset, and they like it. As you know, we bought in GC. 2 main differences...while both are affluent, Manhasset may be slightly more so and they show/act it more. It's also very nice, but seems to be a little less of a community. You can also get some better deals in Garden City than in Manhasset. Prices in Manhasset are crazy.

Be sure you are aware of what section of Manhasset you are looking in. Flower Hill can be Manhasset or Pt. Washington schools. Munsey Park is proably the nicest village in the Manhasset area. The most reasonable parts of Manhasset are nice, but not as nice as FH and MP.

That being said, you can't go wrong with either. Really, if we didn't move to GC, we'd likely move to Manhasset.

Thank you!!I think we are seriously considering Garden City. We like the sense of community. We like the Estates area. We have a lot of reseach to do. Thanks again.

Believe it or not, Manhasset has a housing project on Community Drive, just north of North Shore Hospital. I agree with GC guy that both are beautiful, extremely affluent areas, but Garden City seems more like a community.

Yes, it's 100% true. This is not such a small thing when it comes to the school, either. The few familes we know have mentioned this as being a bit of an issue. Not a major one, but certainly not a non-issue.

Makes not sense to me.

Manhasset downtown would be the Americana shopping plaza (formerly The Miracle Mile) It's like Rodeo Drive or Worth Avenue, but the tudor influence is in the homes in the Munsey Park area of Manhasset. This is, in my opinion the nicest neighborhood in Long Island. The schools are GREAT and the taxes are kept at bay by the many shopping and other commercial operations in the town.

By the way, the schools in Port Wash. are great too and there are many great tudor homes in the Beacon Hill section.
