Interesting, as economic info can range from $30-100,000 for median household income when looking at census block groups for North Amityville. So, it shows a mixed bag, in that regard. Median household income is $66,915(2010-2014 info.) versus $66,902 for the NYC metro area. Poverty rate overall is 8.01% and 6.78% for families. I believe parts of North Amityville are in the Farmingdale and Copaigue SD's.

Aren't parts of East Massapequa in the Farmingdale SD?

Yes, some parts of the North/East portions Massapequa are zoned for Farmingdale SD. Many parts of East Massapequa are in the Amityville SD like the home OP is referring to.There are trailer parks on 110 that have lots of crime & drugs.

I don't see how East Massapequa is a bad area. Yes, it's largely fed by a crappy school district but it's not a high crime area at all and most homes there are still adequately-kept. I rarely hear of major crime coming from there

Are you just referring to the tiny houses or are there actual trailer parks?

So those people did not leave. One was already made an apt complex several years ago. But either way that will probably not revitalize the area of N. Amityville just off the SSP on Route 110 at all. all it will do it make it harder for the poor people that live in that area to find decent housing. The residents even filed a discrimination lawsuit to try to stop it a few years back.

But the crime is still there & very active. Those pats just might and up turning into a section 8 type of dump likely. It will not attract commuters as it is not near a good LIRR commuter line at all. And area is pretty bad. So bad even the DMV moved out LOL

There were many trailer parks in N Amityville. One by one developers have been taking them over. Not sure about the tiny homes you are referring to as I don't know area that well. Just drive through it sometimes on 110 1x year average. No reason to go there for us.

Wait this is coming from you? The defender of every community accused of being "ghetto"?? Wow who are you and what have you done with 1995! ?

N. Amityville is strange, there are some areas where there are nice well kept houses some of which would easily go for 500k in another town, but then a boarded up house 4 houses down. The worst area which has a real gang problem is actually north copaigue often confused with n. Amityville.
