I just thought about another one. The girl was I think a kindergarten teacher and hubby killer her, dropped the car on the LIE and flattened the tires. He too cried and carried on like he was missing one of his best friends. I think he even dialed a phone number or maybe texted from her phone and she was dead for 2 -3 days. I am thinking this was about 10 years ago.

Some that come to mind:

John Pius murder which Burke was the key witness.
The Ricky Kasso satanic murder in Northport.
The girl that was murdered near a roller skating rink in the 80s.

Leah Walsh. The husband's "performance" for the news cameras was pitiful.

Hubby of slain L.I. teacher confesses to strangling her - NY Daily News

All of these are horrible but the one recent one that really bothered me was the guy who killed 4 people in a drugstore in Medford so he could steal a bunch of pain pills. I have no idea why the guy couldn't just commit the robbery without killing several innocents.
