I dont really care too much about this plume thing. I would buy wherever you like & can afford but thats just me

& TBH ive lived on LI my whole life & only just heard of supposed plume 2 years ago on here...

Im not saying it isnt real or having any effects, i'm just not all that concerned about it
Because in reality it's not that big of an issue. Hence why most people don't care.

And as for the southward projections no one really knows if or when that will actually happen, or how potent the Chems will be as it becomes less concentrated as it spreads out or if it even affects any other water supplies. The effect on bethpages supply has been minimal and they are the epicenter of the plume. If I were looking to buy in any of those towns I wouldn't give the plume a second thought.

I attended SBU and the water was awful relative to NYC standards. This was back in 2009. Everyone knew not to drink the tap, only bottled spring water.

By what measurement was the water "awful" (there's a scientific term for you) and how was it compared to NYC water "standards?" And who was this "everyone" and what made them know not to drink the tap water?

The taste and tint probably stemmed from the older pipes on campus. I live near campus and our water is much better than campus water.

Whats that supposed to mean? The water tasted and looked different than NYC tap water. NYC water tastes great and appears clear.

I think you mean the water tasted consistent with that you were accustomed to. Your initial statement required some kind of substantiation to distinguish it from simple opinion. it is now clear that an opinion was all that was offered.
