Seriously though, 5K for a house. It seems like people here pay 5K for a closet sometimes.

This is kind off topic, I have this idea to build out my master bath on the 2nd level of my split. I would want to add 9ft x 5ft and don't need the lower level. I would just put siding on it to match the rest of the house. What would something like this cost. I would want the builder to knock out the back wall of my bathroom build the extension put in a new window and the plywood for the floor. I would do all the sheetrock, electric plumbing finishes myself. I have an idea what this would cost just curious if the experts prices are inline with what I think it will cost.

You say you don't need the lower level? How do you propose to hold this thing up?

We bought a cape and we're building the 2nd floor to have master suite + 3 more bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a kitchen extension for the ground floor, a ball park figure we got was $200,000.
