Yes Bagel Nosh was like next to McDonalds on 347, then it became Carringtons bar and remember Cookeys steak pub with the awesome salad bar.

Remember that commercial ; the customers had eaten so much of the huge salad bar (with shrimp) that when the steaks arrived, they were too full to eat them.

was Bagel Nosh west of the Mcdonalds? I remember there being a bagel store there that recently went out of business. Wasn't Carrington's to the east of Mcdonalds in its own green and white building? I remember it a little. I was kind of young when it went out of business. I used to go mini golfing across the street (which is long gone now )

Carrington's was the next building east of McDonald's -- you're correct. The building was razed and now some big, ugly building is in it's place. Meanwhile the shopping center next door isn't full.

There was a bagel shop to the west of McD's, in the shopping center that housed a kid's fun zone and now Lucille Roberts and a marine store.

I loved Big Barry's. The first time I went there with my little boy (who is now 35) , a little man (is the word dwarf now?) walked in and the waiter said, "Look! There is Big Barry". And, I thought that was a cruel statement to make about a poor soul just walking in a restaurant.

Well, it was. Big Barry , I mean. He really was a little person. Cute as a button with a big cowboy hat.

Hi everyone, I've never posted before, and thought I would add my two cents. I recall a restaurant by the Smithhaven mall, it was right off of Route 347, called "El Torito." It was the only time I've ever had fried ice cream!

I loved Big Barry's. Hubby used to take me there all time when we were dating. We used to get the .10 wings.

I remember El Toritos. The Waitresses were all on the "thick" side, and wore VERY short outfits. It was fun.
