I don't live in LI but I am visiting family and in charge of taking care of all their home theater/computer problems.

I have some electronics and computer equipment to get rid of. Where can I take this stuff to be recycled/disposed of properly?

I am located in Port Jefferson.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Best Buy accepts most electronics Electronics and Appliances Recycling at Best Buy but the closest one to you would be in Westbury. I don't know if it's worth the drive to you. This location in Port Jeff say they will recycle for free http://www.kadrecycling.com/ , good luck

Town of Brookhaven:

Quote:
Electronics

Electronics are not collected by the Town but may be brought to the Town landfill at no fee for recycling. At the landfill, an e-waste recycling company will provide safe processing & recycling of these items. Some of these items include PCs, cell phones, PDAs, copiers, CD ROMs, projectors, circuit boards, etc. Other options include visiting sharetechnology.com or ebay.com/rethink to find electronic drop off locations nearest you. For PCs (Pentium IV or higher) you can call LINCT at 631-728-9100. Top of List

Perhaps if he has a copy of the deed he might be able to circumvent that pesky ID request.

Things must be getting a little boring in Oklahoma or you wouldn't be bumping threads with inane remarks.
