Default syosset train station

Was wondering if anyone was familiar with the commute from syosset to Penn station. We will be moving to the Woodbury area and my husband would be making this commute. Is there plenty of parking at the station? Will he always be able to find a seat? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

For those who may not be familiar with Woodbury:

Woodbury is a hamlet (an unincorporated area) in the center-west part of the Town of Oyster Bay, in the west part of Nassau County, along the Oyster Bay/Huntington Town line and the Nassau/Suffolk County line.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of Woodbury in the Town of Oyster Bay is bordered on the north by the Village of Laurel Hollow; on the east by the Hamlet of West Hills and the Hamlet of Melville in the Town of Huntington, Suffolk County (the Oyster Bay/Huntington Town line and the Nassau/Suffolk County line); on the south by the Hamlet of Plainview; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Syosset.

The Hamlet of Woodbury has a different border than does the "Woodbury, NY 11797" ZIP Code postal zone (i.e., a place can have a "Woodbury, NY 11797" mailing address and not be in the Hamlet of Woodbury and a place can be in the Hamlet of Woodbury and have other than a "Woodbury, NY 11797" mailing address): places that have a "Woodbury, NY 11797" mailing address that are not in the Hamlet of Woodbury are in the Hamlet of Syossset; and, at the same time, there are places in the Hamlet of Woodbury that have a "Plainview, NY 11803" mailing address.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County):

May commuters from Woodbury opt to go to the Hicksville LIRR Station
rather than the Syosset LIRR Station because while Syosset is on the
Port Jefferson branch, Hicksville is on the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma
and Montauk branch, thereby offering a choice of more trains both going
into and returning from Pennsylvania Station:

Thumbs up You have Your choice of Stations

Cold SPring Harbor doesn't have as many trains and isn't an express stop but it has good parking and you pretty much get a seat. Huntington has better parking especially early and a better shot at a seat.

Syosset has parking but not a lot for the size of the station. you will probably be able to find a seat but not always.

Hicksville has a lot of trains, fairly good parking and for crowded citybound trains, not much in the way of seats.

Welcome to the greatest big school district on Long Island.
