Hi everyone,

I've been lurking in these forums for a while. The posts have been quite informative! I'm moving to Long Island very soon to start a job in the Upton area. Could you recommend a town along the South Shore that's east of Upton, but west of Southampton that meets most of the following criteria: walkable, safe, reasonably diverse, and with a decent downtown or village with functional shops.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! For reference, I've spent some time in Babylon, and that would be an ideal town, if it weren't for the fact that it's west of Upton.

Cheers,
E

Neither Sayville or East Islip are east of Upton.

I'd recommend Center Moriches.

Thanks! Any more? Or are the things I'm looking for in a town + its location like looking for a unicorn?

I wonder if one can still sneak in to the Marcos property anymore?

That is probably about it for the areas you are looking in. Most of the walkable downtown areas are in Nassau and Western Suffolk.
