Hello. I'm looking to upgrade my original brick wood burning fireplace with an insert. I see that inserts are about 2-3 thousand. But, does anyone know how much the installation might run me? Thanks.

1000. It runs around 500 for the liner and 500 for the install. Which one are you looking at?

Most people spend $3,500-$4,500 for unit and install.

That does not include the cost of paying a plumber to run gas to the fireplace or for the electrician to provide outlet in the fireplace for the new unit to plug into.

Install is about $1,000. I just ordered the Regency P90 which ran me $3,500 installed and the new stonework will bring it to around $7,000 when all is said and done. At what model are you looking?
