Before you decide how good of a deal this is, you need to make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. If you are looking at all in lease prices, what anyone is quoting you locally likely reflects up-front payments that includes the tax, or the tax is financed in the lease. In NY, you have to pay sales tax on the total amount of all payments over the life of the lease, and it is due in full up front.
