I bought my house in April 2015 and we filled out the form for STAR earlier this year. According to the website originally we were supposed to get our check end of September. I called to check and was told if your taxes are due in October and you filled out the form before end of June then you will get a check in October. October came and went and no check so I called again 2 weeks ago and they said all checks for LI will be cut by December 1st and we should receive it before the 15th.
We escrow our taxes so it's not a huge deal but for those that pay their taxes themselves it sucks having to wait for a check..maybe those people were depending on that credit to pay their taxes.
Apparently they got backlogged because they made a whole bunch of errors in calculations when sending out the enhanced STAR rebate checks to customers upstate.

Set up an NYS Tax account and you can log in and see status of all refunds including income tax and property tax rebates. If anyone's ever paid their income taxes via this setup they can sign in and see those rebates as well.
I applied in October after closing on my home in August 2016. My mortgage payment includes the mortgage, tax, and property insurance so I thought a check would've came. I guess based on everyone else's response, it's way too early for me to receive something??
