Exactly. Everyone is leaving here except it keeps getting more crowded. Which is it?
Immigrants have been popping out kids left and right for years and years and natural born citizens are bailing on LI. So while "we" are leaving, the population is still growing.

It's much more prevalent on LI. We've also got way more LI natives looking to leave due to the high COL than other places around the Country.
Show me statistics that prove that more natives are looking to leave LI than any other part of the country. It happening in most expensive metro areas.

We do fine till we hit the Belt Parkway and then all hell breaks loose and we need to remind ourselves that we are with aggressive drivers and to fine tune our driving.
when you're just returning from a nice vacation road trip and you've been driving country lanes and highways and seeing beautiful scenery and foliage and wonderful farms and animals and nature and you've had the most relaxing time and on the way home you reach the metropolitan area and then you pull up to a toll lane and some IDIOT CUT'S IN FRONT OF YOU BECAUSE THERE'S ONE LESS CAR IN YOUR LANE AND THEN YO GO OVER THE BRIDGE AND TRAFFIC STOPS BECASUE THERE IS A FENDER BENDER ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE AND THEN WHEN THAT OPENS UP ANOTHER IDIOT IS DOING 50 IN THE LEFT LANE AND ALL YOU WANT TO DO AT THAT POINT IS PULL THOSE JERKS FROM THERE CARS AND.....

We drive off the ferry in Port Jeff and see at least one random act of rudeness before we've left the village.
Even my beloved North Fork has been infiltrated by the snobbish, aggressive, and selfish city folk from up the island. Go home and stay home. Or go to the Hamptons with the rest of your snob class. You are rotten excuses for human beings and are not welcome here.

Lately we've been taking the ferry whenever it's feasible. Definitely helps to retain some of that vacation-generated sense of well-being. At least until the second day of work!
