She is a fan of school voucher....imagine kids in low performing school now could go to high performing school without moving there, what would be the effect on LI real estate?

To my knowledge, vouchers can't be used to send a kid living in Hempstead to Jericho public schools. But it can be used to offset the cost of sending the kid from Hempstead to Westbury Friends or Kellenberg using tax dollars. It can also fund the addition of charter schools to a neighborhood.

LI has historically been very anti-Charter school. There was a recent proposal for a charter school to open in Bay Shore / Brentwood and people came out in droves. There were 1000+ names on a single petition and a town hall meeting essentially kicking them out.

My understanding of school vouchers is their used towards the tuition in a private school not to cover the out of district price of attending an adjoining district.

The voucher program isn't about going from a poor performing district to a strong one, but rather having a voucher and using public funds for private schools including religious schoolw.

Not even sure what you are trying to say, but the issue is.

1. Should public funds be diverted from public schools to private schools including religious schools.

2. Should public funds be used for Religious education.

It should get the funds becaiuse it is better and especially in long island and many many people do not like the schools and the teachers there and the christian schools are better and many parrents do not want the children to to to the schools where things can happen. It is even better to go to the catholic school but it is very very expensive and some people like my sister cant afford it ebven though it is also christin.

While there are some bad districts Long Island as a whole is known to have very strong public schools.

Should public funds be diverted to religious schools of other religions as well or just Christian?

Stop trying so hard, this is very transparent to all us old posters.

99% of parents say they'd love them.

99% would shut up when they find out they have to drive their darlings to the schools of their choice.

It's meaningless chatter.

Next issue.
