Well I believe you will, since you will likely be the mayor of GC by then. And as the mayor of GC, you can make sure that no one in your village ever gets insulted on the WBLI program!

Wow listen to you....get up high on that pulpit there kid...

We do business in Mastic beach fairly often, nothing looks any different then any other town on long island...

There is a difference between goofing and funny and breaking balls and just being a outright dick....

If you need some real funny entertainment break down and spend some money and get sat radio like sirius...plenty of comedy and howard stern too, or do you live in trailer and can't afford it since you don't have sat radio...

God willing, if LI doesn't rot to hell b/c it is such a festering crap hole. I think as mayor of GC, my first request would be to ban all radio. There's too much of a risk in people getting offended. Then, no more TV. Same issue. Perhaps then, people will be given the respect they deserve. After this is achieved, I will consider making any and all conversation with another person illegal and prosecute like a hate crime. Oh, the possibilities.

Suspending him was wrong, its impossible to say anything without somebody getting offended.
The Mastic Trailor park should be labled "Town Dump" IMHO.

Codes of conduct are appearing in the in the workplace like they are in Canada. However these "violations" are not clearly defined they simpley use the words like "hurtful" "offensive" so anything can stick. (very much like the agreement for this forum)
In Canada if you say somthing to a crowd 100 or post something on the Internet and if ONE person feels offended he or she can press charges. Some liberal judge make a quick decision and the cops take you out the house in shackles.
Kind of like the KGB

Even here in the USA to work in media, news etc. The print, radio and TV stations are all corperate or privatly owned. They make you sighn and an agreement that pre-empts the 1st Amendment to work.
All the media and TV have become a big clubhouses with there own rules. This is starting to happen in the workplace due to all these "new people" on the Island

For example
Did you know if a Rainbow News Networks (News 12) reporter, Crew's or IO cable worker's caught with a 911 lapel flag wile at work or uses the word "illegal" when referring immigrants its grounds for dismissal ?

In Canada if you say something and one person is offended that person can file a complaint. The police can come to your house and drag you out in shackles for some things.

COX Radio is owned mostly by several private stockholders they wont disclose and its operated by one of the Kennedys.
COX also owns (thanks to Bill Clintons Telecommunication Deregulation Act of 1996)....Get a load of this !!

This is "comedy" designed to get a rise out of the audience. Maybe tasteless, but perfectly legal in the eyes of the FCC. DJs can say "F-ing" to avoid the actual word... but they poke fun at a neighborhood and get suspended?

My problem is that these rules are arbitrary... Southpark can use the REAL version of the N-word, but you mention a trailer park and get suspended? The FCC has a list of words that start with F and S, or relate to "private" body parts... If DJs use these words, they know the potential punishment, but without a clear set of rules from the FCC or a guideline from the corporate owners, there should be no suspension.

I never listened to that station to begin with, lol. I can't stand pop to begin with, and it makes it twice as bad since they play the same pop over and over.

South Park is on cable television and has a TV-MA rating, so they can pretty much do or say whatever they want. Even Family Guy (the cable version) has a warning at the beginning sometimes.

There was nothing wrong with what Randy did. He had his press conference and apology today and will be back on the air tomorrow.

The craziest part about this whole thing, though, is that the woman that the joke was targeted at wasn't even mad about it. She thought it was ridiculous that her town was all up in arms over it.

I just hope this incident doesn't make Randy tone down..... he is so funny and I love listening to him on my way to work.

Wasn't on a pulpit.

Don't care what Mastic looks like

If you heard the show or know anything about it, you would know he was joking.

I won't pay for radio so I can listen to some rude and disrespectful jackazz like Howard Stern. I never listened to him on free radio.

No one is "trying to be like Howard Stern"..... If you listened to this show and knew anything about it, you would know that, too.
