St Patrick's Day is coming and already one parade has taken place. Is anyone on the board planning on marching and participating in any of the parades? Is anyone planning on attending?

Weather permitting, I will be in the Huntington parade on Sunday 3/9 and the St James parade on Saturday 3/15.

Rocky Point is also on Sunday March 9 and it is my favorite. My club has already committed to Huntington, so no Rocky Point parade for me this year.

I attended East Islip years ago when I lived in Islip Terrace. I had a great time!

We are irish (accent and all) and love the Montauk Parade. But you need to get there before 11ish as they close the only road out there. When we lived in Patchogue, we used to walk to the Bluepoint parade and loved it.

I've heard that Montauk is a great parade; just too darn far. My daughter's Irish dance teacher has a location out east and I believe that group marches in the Montauk parade.

Westhampton used to have a great one that I took the kids to every year. Of course, this is 20 yrs ago and I have no idea if it even exists anymore! but if it does, I bet it is better than ever! My fave yr was the coneheads riding in a limo and getting out and running around. Fun!

One year (1978) , there had been such an icy cold winter that one of the floats was an ice-encased WV Beetle . Cheers were all around !!!

Cutchogue - the parade for Saturday March 13th has been moved to March 27th, but "Who Are Those Guys" will be playing in town this Saturday night (March 13th) at the Fisherman's Rest. So the parade is on in spirit, come on down!!!

the montauk parade is always held the Sunday after St Patrick's day (March 21st this year) and is worth the trip ! I believe it starts at 1 pm - beginning from the east end of town and heads west through the village, ending at Kirk Park. Driving from the west, there is plenty of parking available on the south side of Old Montauk Hwy (just before it meets 27 on the west end of the village). Not too long to walk. Bathrooms at Kirk Park are kept open, a big plus.
