I'm considering Our Lady of Peace, St. Raymond's school or St. Anne's for my middle schooler. Does anyone have any opinions about these schools, good, bad or indifferent? Child is into theater, fairly strong at math and we are looking for a school where the boys are generally respectful to peers and teachers. Also, I have never seen any catholic school rankings. Any particular schools known to be better than others in Nassau?

I did 8 years hard time at Saint Raymond's.
Best of the 3. I believe there is still a small handful of the faculty/staff still there from back in the day. Good school, at least as far as Catholic schools.

I've read very little about Our Lady of Peace. Anyone have a child there or know someone who has a child at OLP?

The parish was established in 1940-1941. The name Our Lady of Peace was inspired by the world events of 1941, according to the parish history HERE.

Your geography has me puzzled. St. Anne's is in Garden City. Would you mean St. Agnes in Rockville Centre? St. Agnes is the largest (and probably most thriving) of all Catholic elementary schools in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. I could be wrong, but I suspect that the family income of those enrolled in St. Agnes is higher than the income of those enrolled in St. Raymond's, East Rockaway.

The State of New York pays the private schools for required test-taking and the reporting of results. Yet, the diocesan education office does not publish the results. The public should be informed of all school test results. The Newsday charts of success in these tests include only the public schools.

I no longer reside in NY however, I know there Was/is? no requirement for the results to be published just a requirement to provide the test.
