Thanks, appreciate the insight.

Also, the houses are much more architecturally pleasing and spread much farther apart. I mean, Anyone who has been to LBI will tell you that the houses have about 5 feet of space in between them.
Also, he towns are very different. They are upscale, but quaint at the same time. While the hamlets are beach towns, they also have a lot of farms and horses and have a real country feel to them as opposed to the "spring break" beach town atmosphere you find in many beach areas.
Wait... A picture is worth a thousand words...

If you turn down Fairway Dr off of 25A right by the walbaums/pier 1 shopping center in Rocky Point that will take you right into The Tides. You can also take Hallock Landing Rd (the traffic light by KFC) follow that around and make a left onto Whitewood Dr. or Tall Tree Ln. The houses right now range from $300,000 to $450,000. It really is my favorite area!

Thanks for this. I'm moving back to LI after living in Florida for 4 years. Everyone always talks so bad about it I was having second thoughts.

Please, sort through the BS on this board. A lot of angry people. Good luck. Enjoy, FLA is nice, but it's no NY.

I just moved from LI this past year to.... don't make me say it.... Florida!
I had no choice. My husband got transferred with his job.
Having been here for 8 months, I can honestly say that there is no place like Long Island. I can say that I am sad that my children will not get a chance to grow up in such a great place like I was able to.
Take advantage of what you have - you never know when you may be forced to leave.
