Question Teaching on Long Island

Hi,

I know that it is difficult (to say the least) to get a teaching job on Long Island. However, I'm curious to know which school districts would be the best bets (in Nassau & W. Suffolk) for applying for teaching jobs? I've been teaching for four years in a public high school in Brooklyn. I'm dual certified in secondary English and Special Education.

Hmmm, I don't know if any are best bets. Maybe tougher districts might have more of a turnover...less people interested in working in them. But overall, tough to get a teaching gig on LI.

I teach in the city as well. From what I've heard, it's easiest to get a job in the district you graduated from (if it was on LI). i'm going to try the district I graduated from, since about 4 people I graduated with are now teachers in it.
