We have direct TV. DH says never again. We lose the signal too often and we really don't feel we like the services. So we vote NO to directtv in the future.

FIOS with the TV package is about 10X faster at peak times. Thats how it supports 1080p high definition. (thats the same qualiety as Blue Ray DVDs)

FIOS dynamic now, no need for passwords and log on like the older DSL lines (this was called PPoe).
Just connect the computer and open Internet Explorer.

The Cablevision mob knock's "phone company TV" or "10 X faster then DSL" What they wont say is FIOS is 10X faster then RF digital cable.
What I hate about Cablevision the most is the menu they FORCE YOU to scroll through and see something like 3000 Spanish, International, shopping, public acess, smut and assorted subscription and PPV channels when using the guide.
The scrolling is so sloppy and unstable by the time you find a movie you missed the first 5 minutes (and that if the box doesnt crash and lockup scrolling)

The remote for FIOS can be programmed to what you want to see in the program guide rather then force you to scroll 700 channels of "junk"

Stay away from Cablevision. The TV is HORRIBLE. I get pixelation and stuttering, the quality if awful. Also a very limited channel selection. I will be switching to Fios, I hope it gets to Westbury soon.

Il explain what causes that.
They want to place as much programming as possible on the system so they water the video down then compress it teight as possible.
If they dropped those 200+ international, Spanish an junk channels they would have more bandwith...but no !

If one packet get lost it takes seconds to re assemble the program. The decoders are running maxed out and often crash or take 30 seconds to respond.
The IO system was rushed and wasnt ready IMO

Most the HD content runs slow. It makes you dizzy, most movies look like they were filmed in strobe light.
"Video On Demand" still has the same movies from September.

FIOS blows it away
