I'm in Floral Park right on the Stewart Manor border. It really depends on what you are looking for. I love Stewart Manor, but unless you are doing Catholic schools, I wouldn't recommend it. I know some people who do public there and are happy, but most go to St. Anne's which is a wonderful parish and a great community if that is what you are looking for. If so, I highly recommend it. Floral Park is also a nice community, slightly more diverse, but only slightly! You could probably find something in your price range. The strip of stores on Covert Ave is awesome! It really has everything you need and gives a real Mayberry feel to the neighborhood. Good luck!

One other note about SM, I think all or most of the houses on the east side on Fernwood are GC schools. That street is the dividing line between the two villages. So, yes, there are more than a couple with GC schools in SM. Usually they go a little higher.
