The P.O now takes photos of the outside of all mail, does it prove delivery ? No but it does prove the mail addressed to you passed thru the processing facility.
Means nothing. Absolutely no proof it made it to my mailbox, or furthermore to my hands. Until they start sending these items certified, the system is ultimately flawed.

Honor system is flawed but i wonder what the root cause is
The last time (more than 10 years ago) that I went to report for jury duty, when they went around to the jurors asking if they had any concerns they might be biased during the case, I stated that I didn't want to be there because my employer only pays for 2 days out for jury duty, and the thought of having to report for weeks on end without pay would force me to think irrationally.

Instant dismissal.
ooooh that's good.
I had a similar type thing.
I got called a week after I started my first job ever... so naturally I wanted to make a good impression and I had zippola days accrued b/c I was only there a week.
That said, did the same type thing, new job, on probation, not paying me, could get fired, lots of tears etc etc and they also let me go.
Crying works well. They told me I did not have a stable personality.
That was 22, though. Could I still get away with the crying bit in my mid-30's?
Just received a reply from the court clerk to my letter of travel hardship to Brooklyn from Suffolk, requesting a transfer to Islip.
It was a form letter that states my jury duty service is postponed and deferred until further notice. I will be notified at a later date.
It mentions nothing about transferring my jury duty to Islip. I'm wondering if I should write or call to explain that I don't want a postponement (for Brooklyn)....but simply a transfer to Islip.
You should have just thrown the letter out in the first place. Many of us do. You would not have had to bother with a letter of explanation about your travel hardship.
