Northern Lake Grove is Middle Country. A Very small part, perhaps two blocks of Lake Grove are Three Village. Most homes in Lake Grove Three Village are actually on Nesconset Highway. Check MLSLI.

I meant the northern most section....so you are correct in what you say....The newer section of of Pond path....where Sweetbriar, morning glory and arbor field way is all 3 village...this is the area I was refering to however the area across Mc Donalds (where the old mini-golf and driving range were is also in 3 Village..

The old Windmill Farms is split between Sachem and Middle Country.

I am currently thinking about putting in an offer on a home in the Middle School School District. The home is in Centereach, on the Lake Grove border ( Near Middle Cty road and Hawkins). Is this a good area to raise children? Is there really that much of a differece between sachem/Middle country schools? I ask becauseThe taxes/ home prices are much lower than Holbrook/lake Grove.

A fist fight in school -- no police, but yes to the NYSDOE

My daughter had an 'incident' in elementary school wherein she was the victim. No police were brought in, but the incident was reported to the state and I was given a record of it.

The state breaks the list down by offenses.

Just a quick response to Tony V - the development you are referring to (Morning Glory Drive, Arbor Field Way, etc. which is known collectively as Country Woods) is not all Three Village. The Middle Country and Three Village district boundary cuts through the middle of this development. The northern part is Three Village and the southern part is Middle Country. Another section of Three Village is the extreme northern part of the T Section, as well as any houses right on Route 347. Check out a Hagstrom map and you'll see the district boundaries clearly marked.

The area you are describing is Lake Grove. If the district is Middle Country, dont worry. Middle Country and Sachem are not much different. In the past, Sachem was a better district, but as of the last ten years or so, Middle Country has met or in some cases surpassed Sachem in both academics and school safety. Check the NYS Education websites. Also remember that prior to having ZIP codes, parts of what are known now as Centereach were and allways were Lake Grove. Mailing adress is not legal adress. Over the years, people forgot that. Parts of Lake Grove ZIP code are also Nesconset, and Lake Ronkonkoma. In short, Middle Country is just as good as Sachem.

New Village, thanks for your post about MC schools. I was concerned about the schools personally based on comparisons I made between Eugene Auer and the 2 Sachem schools in Lake Grove (Wenonah and Cayuga). Both of the Sachem schools seemed to perform better, particularly in the 3rd grade. I have also compared Dawnwood and Centereach High School against Sachem and I recall that Sachem's results were mostly better (although not dramatically better) with some exceptions (Dawnwood, for example, has very good English scores). My neighbors seem to be happy with MC schools, but there are also quite a few people around here sending their kids to Catholic school. Any more feedback on MC schools would be appreciated. I have heard and see evidence that the schools have made good improvements over the years so it looks like we are moving in the right direction.
