So i contacted an agent who's a good business associate of a family member, told them there was one house in particular i wanted to view. He comes back and says its a "drive by only" house. owner does not want to let any one inside. So i asked is the house rented? they replied no.

So how the hell does one even put an offer on a house with out knowing the condition of the interior? Are there any ways around this?

Agent said to stop by there tomorrow, ring the doorbell and state to them i'm a serious buyer and want to view the inside before i put an offer.

Any thoughts for this situation?

It might be time to give up on that house, but id hate to walk away with out at least knowing for sure.

~Matt

Your agent is an idiot. Walk away from both house and agent.

Go after this house, if it's the only one on the market.

Maybe it is being sold "as is", but even still.

Even if it's being sold as is, the house has to be seen. Does it need $50K of work, or $250K? It's something that needs to be known.

Only buy it if you're planning to knock it down.
