Suffolk TVB is a joke. You don’t need a lawyer. Go to the court wait for your name to be called. Walk up to the prosecutor booth and simply state your reason for driving fast -you probably won’t even finish before interrupt. They will look at past record and reduce it down. You say thank you, pay fine and walk out.

And going 43in a 20mph zone is not absurd. Some roads are put at an absurdly low speed limit.

Waaaay to slow for the LIE and parkways, just about anywhere the posted limit is 55.

Never got more than a parking ticket so I'm not up on the info.
I figured the lawyer would be a grand plus.
Mine was $350 for the lawyer and 300 for the parking ticket. Suffolk wants their money, so they're going to get it one way or another. I did the math as I was through this before years ago and for 5 years, the points (though I reduced them through the defensive course) stayed on there for 3 years and the insurance company points stayed on there for 5 years and my rates went higher. So while the $650 above was a lot short term, over that 5 year period, I would have paid way more than $650. So yes it is worth it.

Meh. Ameteur.
Nothing like hitting that dry spot when you're skitching at high speeds.
