We are planning a trip in September. DH wants to drive without stopping to stay overnight. Has anyone done this?

I would prefer to fly or if driving stay over.

Why don't you thank your DH for taking you on vacation to the warmth and sunshine and not criticize his decision on how to get your butt down there?

Piece of cake. Done it a million times.
10 hours give or take.
Really, Myrtle is a joke of a drive.
Florida would maybe be an overnight in a motel.

Perfect conditions you can do it in one day. Get stuck in NoVA for 3 hours, you'll be looking for a hotel by Petersburg, VA.
It's a crapshoot (yes we've been stuck in NaVA traffic for 3 hours. You can use your EZPASS and use the toll lanes to by pass the 3 hours, but it will cost you an arm and leg....for a vacation it's worth it IMHO).

10 hours is unlikely.

Say what? I've done this drive more times than I can count and I've never been stuck in traffic anywhere near 3 hours.
If anything, it's equivalent to city border traffic at rush hour.
It's timing. Leave at 5AM.
It's a one day drive. Equal to a day at work with a little overtime.

I used to live in Fayetteville NC and that was a 12 hour drive from the Mineola area, (stops for the dog twice) not sure how you would get there in 10 hours, maybe 11 straight through with little traffic.

I drove to Surfside Beach, about a half hour south of Myrtle last year. It was the end of June, we left at 3:15am on a Saturday morning. I was in Virginia by 7am, and then it all went to hell. We crawled across Virginia and North Carolina. It took over 14 hours to get to Surfside from Northport, LI... I used the EZ Pass lanes, but even those wound up at a standstill near the bottom end.

Yup, what she said! We do it every year. Unless you drive during the night which I don’t like doing, you will not be there in 10 hours.

IDK. I routinely make it in around 10/11 hours.
No "speeding".
