Its that time of the year, and although I always took care of my own lawn, I am at the point that my time during the weekend is more valuable than wasting hours doing my yard. Can anyone recommend who they are using that would be able to service the Nassau side of South Farmingdale? It would be great if you would let me (us) know about how much you pay. Does it include seeding, etc? Thanks.

Us? Maybe it's time for the Mrs. to get behind the mower.

It certainly is... started to hear it this past week... the long hours of droning machine noise in the air. Mixed with dust that covers everyone's freshly-washed cars from unnecessary blowing. These guys are awesome! For f'n sake.

In short, don't hire them.

These effers love trashing my yard because everyone on my street hires the same company except me (I'm a DIY cheap bastard), and they bring an army of dreamers with equipment to do everyone's lawn simultaneously. So yesterday I come home from work and they blew the leaves from neighbors on both sides of house onto my yard. I wanted to call ICE.

I actually don't need the lawn cutting service as much as I do the seeding and the actual lawn care. My lawn has looked terrible since I bought the house a few years ago, which was taken care of by landscapers. It turns brown in one week after looking great for a few months. A ton of weird looking things appear in areas. I tried to get rid of it but cant. I actually need them to make the lawn look green and nice but not to cut it.

Same thing used to happen to us - you just jogged my memory.

Almost everyone around here DIYs - the new neighbors across the street even have an old fashioned push mower, haven't seen one of them since the 1970s!

Up until two years ago I had an old fashioned push mower but she had bunion surgery and hasn't cut the lawn since.

I just had the spring cleanup done today. Price was $250 plus $60 extra to remove 2 small bushes/trees. I’m using Emerald Lawn Care Services

I’m very satisfied with the work they did. We’ll see how well they maintain the lawn with the weekly services.

What do you mean you just started to hear it this past week? My retired old neighbor uses his backpack leaf blower every single day unless there is snow on the ground. He just did a long session earlier today to move 3 leaves across the street.

I am not exaggerating.

Sunday mornings at 745.
Thanksgiving morning.
Sometimes twice a day if it's windy and/or the fall season.

This isn't normal? What should I do? I feel like I live in an industrial area.

How much is your weekly service and what is your sq ft?
