if they find you guilty and you get points, you can immediately take defensive driving which will reduce up to 4 points from your license and give you a 10% reduction for up to 3 years. Luckily, those classes are offered on the weekends!!!

it may be a very bad idea . the problem is unless his license is going to be suspended removing points means nothing . that point reduction is only internal at the dmv . the convictions stand as is for all the insurers to see unchanged .

as my buddy who worked for an insurer warned me , nothing raises a red flag to an insurer and highlights you like taking a defensive driving course you never took before . it guarantees the insurer will look at your record where as like i did , i stayed off the radar by just not putting myself on the screen and they never saw my six pointer.

what do you think is nonsense ? insurer do not see points at all , your record only lists convictions and the course has no bearing on what others see on your record .
------------------------------------
dmv says so too .

What are the benefits of taking a Defensive Driving/Accident Prevention course?
Completing an approved course will refresh your driving knowledge
help to prevent you from losing your license in the event you accrued 11 or more points on your driving record
4 points are 'subtracted' for the purposes of calculating a suspension if you have 11 or more points
the tickets/points do not physically come off your driving record
---------------------------------------------------------

hey if you don't think suddenly taking a defensive driving course raises eyebrows when you never did , then do it . i warned you all but do what you like . insurers have no reason to pull driving records regularly unless you give them one .

Your only excuse would be a dash cam. Another reason to have one. $35 from amazon.

By pleading not guilty, you will have to appear. So you should call in sick that day.
Been through a lot of family stuff ... sick family members.

I had no choice unfortunately.

Thanks. I just mailed in the Not guilty plea.
