I have a wedding to attend in August in Westchester (near the Tappan Zee), and I'm coming from Garden City with a party of 6. Most limo companies charge $250+ one-way for this supplying a SUV.

I've priced this out on Uber and it seems to be around $150 for Uber XL. Has anyone done something like this? I'm tempted to get an Uber TO the wedding and a car service FROm the wedding.

You could always take the LIRR to Penn and then take the MNR up to Westchester ... prob less than ideal but might be cheaper ...

I've taken an Uber from Garden City to Westchester and the city and its always fine. I take an Uber home a lot at night and pretty reasonable from Manhattan back (less than $50). You might have to wait a bit longer for the XL, but you can schedule ahead if you know your time.

Rent a car for $19.99 and draw straws to see which poor schlep gets to be the DD.

It might take a little while to find a driver willing to do that ride, but aside from that it's a great idea.

We own a 7 seater SUV. We don't want to have a DD. So far, Uber seems to be like a good idea.

Uber drivers donít know your destination, otherwise the system wouldnít work. You should be able to get Uberís both ways pretty easy. Download the Lyft app as well to give more options for price and drivers.
