Im totally anti healthcare industry.
However, my vet saved my dogs life twice, once from lepto and the second time cancer.
So, even though it's against my values and such, when it comes to my animals I'll bite the bullet.

Healthcare is a total money making scam in general. The only time I would utilize it is under life or death situation like a car wreck or gunshot or something. Everything else I'll just ride it out and hope for the best. I think the main reason I am never sick or have any health issues is because I do not go to the doctor. I just don't trust the system.

You do realize that North Shore Animal League is very dependent upon donations right? So while your kids are well meaning, by taking their rescues in there, they are actually costing even more. I would say if they can rescue and bring to NS that would be better since NS will then offset their costs a bit when the animals are adopted, otherwise don't rescue what you can't afford to pay for. I am not trying to be harsh, but if everyone with an animal rescue took them in for vaccines etc. they would have no funds available to accomplish their stated mission.

To Chattyneighbor: West Hills Animal Hospital on Route 25 in Woodbury/Huntington. I board my dog there when we go away; he's taken very good care there, and never comes back with any issues ever. No kennel cough. Nothing. The way it should be.
