Hi everyone. How is the village of Huntington and the surrounding area about snow removal? The streets are very narrow-so you get snowed in or do the plows come pretty quickly? Just wondering about the winters close to town. Thanks!

I grew up on a narrow dead end street in Huntington and we were always plowed out strangely quickly. My mom's theory was that we lived pretty close to the highway department yard so that helped.

Lived in Huntington for the last 20 years, snow removal has always been very prompt, in fact there have been a few times where I wished they were slower just so I had an excuse to get out of work. But alas Huntington is pretty on top of things (minus the new Moderator cut: language removed mall they wanna build. )

I would still buy all the milk, bread, eggs, & gasoline you can before every snow event.

The highway dept. is prompt in the municipal area. But when we lived on Gaines Place near Fleets Cove Beach, we were snowed in for 3 days on our dead end street. It took several phone calls to get one truck to plow the street.

Now that Lou Lamoriello is in the fold, Snow removal on Long Island should be swift, and permanent.
