Hello Everyone,
We Just got new House in New Hyde Park, and called national Grid to start service and they made me appointment for next day between 7-1pm which is 5 hours window, technician called me informed he will be here in 15 minutes. And I was being 5 minutes late which is after he called I said my apologies I’m running 5 minutes late which is was pick time. Technician argued said I have to be stay home and I got there exact in 5minutes. When I called national grid they said he can’t wait even 5minutes as he is too busy. I was wondering if anybody have been issue as mine , if you can share your experience? The point is they made me appointment with 5hour window, and they can’t wait 5minutes?

OP I feel for you but these guys are very busy and they will not give you that sort of courtesy. I'm sure they had people in the past tell them they were going to be there in 5 minutes but actually got there a half hour or more. Blame it on people who abuse the system. Unfortunately you need to be home and at wait on them, not them waiting on you. This is how it is with Nat grid, cable, electric and water. Sorry but you being 20 minutes away is kinda your fault. You should have been home during that time frame, and complained if he did not show up within it.

Was rescheduled yesterday between 3pm and 8pm, after several my call they called me back around 7:40 and said they’re very close to me and they will finish within few minutes. After that technician called me at 9:15 which is I left at 8:45. Just for connecting gas I waste my whole day and we couldn’t make it.

Escalate the call to executive customer service and explain what happened. I am not sure what you were saying, but I think you were explaining that you received a call at 7:40 saying they would be there shortly and you finally left at 8:45 when they failed to show up. Finally at 9:15 you received a call. If this is the case, do as I suggest.
