Hi everyone! I’ve been searching to find a house in the farmingdale area. We have an accepted offer in East Farmingdale - Half Hollow Hills SD. Was curious if anyone has any experience living in this area or knowledge of the area. Specifically, how the area/neighborhood is, location to schools, traffic on Melville road, and my main concern is the air planes / flight paths over that area. And anything else you can add would be helpful thank you so much!

I don't live there I looked on and off for 1 year at homes in Melville court. That area is fine Melville road has some traffic it runs between Conklin and 110 it's to be expected. Nothing you can do about the planes it's all over at this point. This area is zoned sunquam, west hollow, hs east. It's about 4 miles to sunquam 3 to west hollow 7 to hs east. This neighborhood is a great value as you can walk to the train and you get HHH schools.

I’ve lived there for 20+ years. Still have family there.
Airport is a non issue, Rt 110 is CRAZY with traffic on the weekends and rush hour. Taxes are a fortune because Farmingdale is split between Nassau & Suffolk. Schools are great, especially Half Hollow. Centrally located to go out east or NYC. Easy access to the LIE, S.S. Parkway. Plenty of shopping/stores. Farmingdale Main Street is now built up like crazy! FOR THE BETTER!

Good Luck!
