Olive garden is turning into roy Rogers, toys.r.us is going to be national wholesale liquidators and Kmart in West Babylon will be Lowe's. Got it from Massapequa dad's on Facebook. Should have known better to get accurate information there than a website forum full of basement dwellers.
The reason Olive Garden is successful is it is an American restaurant, there is no accounting for taste in the USA. Americans have one of the most blandest, unsophisticated palates in the western world, we have adults that spend an entire lifetime basically eating off the kids menu. (that is why Americans have so many allergies, do to their basic and bland palate) On top of that the American palate has been groomed for fast food which largely plays off a salty then sweet taste. Lots of meat, lots of high fructose corn syrup, lots of salt, lots of stuff like this fried. A disaster of a cuisine.
Olive Garden is quintessentially American restaurant because it is american cuisine with just an influence of highly complex, highly developed Italian cuisine. Make no mistake Olive Garden is geared towards the middle American with a bland palate that will spend their entire life eating off the kids menu. There are just too many ethnics on the South Shore, they do not eat like Americans, they have not reached the requisite blandness of palate required by the population at-large to ensure success for Olive Garden.
